My last position was Senior Editor for a CME company. However, I am interested in doing freelance editing for anyone writing or publishing in the medical sciences.

Myrna publishes magazines that deal with satellite imaging, remote sensing, photogrammetry, geographic information systems and location-based services. These are digital technologies used to create mapping tools such as Google Earth. They're used in water systems management, geology, crop planning, three-dimensional modeling and dozens of other applications. I've written for her about a number of topics. I doubt if she'd be interested in AMWA, but you can find her magazine at http://www.imagingnotes.com/go/
I am interested in Europe because medical device companies that want to sell there can obtain CE mark approval to do so by demonstrating product safety and efficacy through a clinical trial, a review of the literature, or a combination of the two. Do you see what I'm saying? I want to write literature reviews. If I could find country-specific databases that divulge information about an American company's INTENT to file for a CE mark in Europe, I could locate potential literature review clients.
I loved writing the two literature reviews that I got a chance to do for Valleylab. These were on systems that use ultrasonic aspiration or microwave ablation to excise tumors. The work pays great.
Well the fact that I can get a contract signed with a Connecticut surgeon whom I've never met and can work for remotely gives me hope. Ideally, we medical writers would be able to work remotely in all sorts of situations. I'd like to work remotely for medical device companies who need writers to produce their literature reviews so they can get the CE mark and sell their devices in Europe. But it's hard to find out which companies have the INTENT to do such a thing. Somewhere there has got to be a database that divulges information about "letters of intent" or other clues. This is probably handled country by country in Europe. Do you have any ideas in this area?
I don't know about the bingo, but an editor who I write for on a quarterly basis also lives in Morrison. Myrna Yoo is the publisher of Imaging Notes magazine, which covers geospatial imaging and remote sensing (digital mapping and 3D rendering from satellite imagery).
My work in journalism was with smaller newspapers. I'm currently rewriting a book for a dental implant surgeon, and trying to feel my way around this site. I need to be more active in the networking arena. Medical writing and editing is kind of tough to get in the Rocky Mountain region. At least that's my impression.
We currently have an opportunity for a Senior Medical Writer to join a well established medical communications agency in Central London.
The successful individual will have a strong science background up to a higher degree (MSc, PhD, MBBS) level or…
