I am a faculty member at the University of Central Florida. One of my areas of specialty is health communication, particularly the use of technology in healthcare. I have multiple publications on that subject. I am very much interested in pursuing a career in health/medical writing as well. More specifically, I would like to be a freelance health/medical writer.

I am seeking an entry-level medical writing/editing job that I can do from home. I live in the South where there are not many opportunities for medical writers, and at this time, I'm unable to move. So, a work-from-home job would be best. If anyone knows of any freelance entry-level medical writing/editing jobs, please keep me in mind. I can send my CV and writing samples from school.

We are an advertising adaptation agency and are currently looking for freelance medical writers to work on a pan-european advertising campaign for a pharmaceutical company. Writers must have a European language as there first language and have excellent English. Experience in medical advertising, marketing or primary care brands an advantage.

• The qualified candidate will work directly with other medical/technical writers and biostatistician to prepare, edit, and organize a variety of technical documents that include presentations, manuscripts for peer-reviewed publications, clinical evaluation report and study protocols.

• Will interface with Document Control, Research and Development, Marketing, and Program Management.

Position Responsibilities

• Prepare, format, and submit summarizes data from clinical studies for submission to the Food and Drug Administration (FDA).
• Review and edit protocol produced by members of the Clinical Research staff.
• Collaborate with Document Control to development and implement systems that ensure the timely release of technical documentation.

Basic Qualifications

• BS in a scientific discipline

Since 1999, the CBCE has partnered with clinical experts in solid tumors and hematologic malignancies to develop and implement local, regional, national and international medical education initiatives designed to accelerate the adoption of best practices and clinical breakthroughs in oncology. The CBCE is dedicated to creating rigorous educational programs at the forefront of science.

The Medical Writer will research, review, and write scientific and technical documentation for assigned healthcare accounts; includes responsibility for the planning and development of enduring materials, slide sets, and manuscripts. The position requires close collaboration with other medical writers, senior medical writers, associate medical directors, medical directors and editors.

Duties include:
- Developing content for enduring materials, slide sets, and manuscripts and other medical educational programs.
- Traveling to scientific meetings to gather data for content and proposal development for medical educational programs.
- Assisting Educational Program Services (EPS) in the development of agenda and program content for scientific meetings, live programs, and enduring materials.
- Providing input for the development of scientifically accurate graphic concepts for live programs and enduring materials.
- Scanning scientific and medical literature regularly for potential unmet needs, disseminating all relevant study results to EPS and new business development team, and providing scientific expertise in conceiving new educational programs and creating grant proposals.
- Communicating with clinical experts to ensure accuracy and quality of content in scientific project.

MD, PharmD, or PhD in the biological sciences; clinical science or oncology experience preferred. Proficient with Windows, Microsoft Word, and PowerPoint. At least 1-2 years of medical writing experience preferred.

I graduated with distinction in English Language and Literature.
I am also a qualified physician and have experience in medical copywriting, editing and writing medical reports and articles and controlling advertising.
I am an EU citizen and have free capacity at the moment.

I am seeking an entry level medical writing position. I have a BS, MS in biomedical science, and am currently a research study coordinator in pediatric oncology.
